I lost departure card

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

My name is Thang. I am Vietnamese. Before I came to Thailand, I had applied Student-Visa with the deadline is in 21 April 2014.

I lost my departure card which attached to my passport so my university's staff said that they can not proceed the 90-day extension by themselve.

Should I go to Immigration Office to renew it and is it complex? I also heard that the Immigration services provided at Government Complex Center are suspended (according to Goverment website) so where do I need to go? Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank you very much!

Go to immigration and ask for a new arrival card. Sometimes they will ask you to file a police report of you losing the card before they will issue a new card. That is just a formality.

For the rest it is no problem, a lot of people lose their card.

You can use two immigration offices:

1. Immigration Service Center for 3 national Legalized Labors, Major Hollywood Suksawat, 1st Floor,
Suksawat Road, Ratburana, Bangkok. Click here to view a map
2. Immigration Service Center for 3 national Legalized Labors, Imperial World Ladprao, 5th Floor,
Ladprao Road, Wang Tong Lang, Bangkok. Click here to view a map

This temporary service will be started from January 13rd, 2014 until the situation improves.
We apologise for inconvenience.
Service time Mon-Fri 10:30 - 18:30 Closed on OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS

You have to go to a police station and report it was lost and then take the statement to the immigration office for a renewal .

Who says you dont learn something new on TV every day..laugh.png

I lost my departure card in Jan, and only realising it was missing on the way to the airport to fly down to Singapore for a couple of days

The immigration guy at Swampy just laughed and sent me on my way...

didnt realise it needed a police report ...biggrin.png

Was told at Suksawad not to worry, that I'd be able to get the 90 days done there without the card ( I stapled a copy of the lost one to my passport ). That was last month.

I lost my departure card. The immigration officer asked me to buy a bottle 2 bottles wiskey for him in the tax-free area. He gave me 2000 Baht to do so. I brought the bottles to him and he gave me a new departure card. Only later I realized that what is was asking was not very appropriate or legal.

Departure immigration does not ask for it. You can get a new one at the airline check in counter to fill before you go to immigration.

The police report is only needed at some immigration offices. At one time Bangkok was one of those.

These things are hastily and untidily stapled into your passport on arrival. Thousands of them must go missing, especially because you are required to carry your passport with you at all times. as well as give it to your hotel reception and your motorbike hirer!

While there may be a regulation requiring you report it to the police, I wouldn't bother, they would be inundated if everyone did this.

Just ask for a new card at immigration.

But the OP problem is different, the university insists on him having the dept. card.

So the in this context, as the mod answered, he may be asked by immigration for a police report.
