I tried their website but couldn't find the details, does anyone know the minimum deposit amount required to open an account there?

Also, if I opened an HSBC account in England, could I then transfer funds from that to Thailand whilst in Thailand?

HSBC now only operate Corporate/Business banking in Thailand, Personal Banking was stopped about 18 months ago.

The 'personal banking' arm was sold to a Thai bank, as stated about 18 months ago. I use Bangkok Bank who have a London office to undertake cheap transfers from my UK bank to my Bangkok Bank in Thailand, transferring sterling. They convert sterling to Baht in Thailand.
