Work permit after a BOI WP

Hello,

I have a friend who is in the moment on a BOI Visa with WP.

His contract will end 30.4.14

He will then change his Visa to a non-imm. based on his marriage to a Thai. He do it inside Thailand. (Take about 4 weeks there told him.)

He found a new job (could start 1.5.14)

Can he get a work permit now or have he to wait until his old Visa/WP is canceled?

Can he apply for a WP on that temporary Visa or have he to wait until he get the marriage visa?

His contract ends on the 30th, at that time he can get a 60 day extension to visit his wife.

That gives him 60 days to either get a new extension of stay based on employment or based on his marriage.

If he probably can't get a new WP before his current job ends and the old one is cancelled. Him being BOI makes it all a bit unclear as they have different rules than normal labour and immigration. Normally he would only get another WP with approval of the new employer, but he might be able to already apply for the new work permit.
