PM assigns Deputy Defense Minister to get to grips with southern violence

As Ms. Yingluck is 'only' in charge of policies I wonder what the policy for Down South is and how this new, handpicked fellow is to translate policy into action?

Can this woman not do anything? Not even call meetings, sit on committees, brainstorm?

All she does is delegates and thinks her job is done.

That's what Prime Ministers do; they don't have time to do everything required in every portfolio, so Ministers are in charge. Business works exactly the same way, the CEO delegates.

Follow up is important via briefings, etc., but ultimately the appointed Minister carries the can.

But the cP.M. has the Defense Ministers job so she is not that busy or she couldn't manage it. Problem why have it if you do not act yourself.???

When you are the P.M. Def/Minister, you do NOT have time to be attending OTOP shops--rubbish tips--a drought area (that is annual) anyway--

I would like to know from a follow up if the 50 trips abroad that she personally did, how many of these did she delegate---FEW

She actually was doing the F/Ministers job, Trade and Industries job, Tourisms Job, and the rest.

So the PM has too much work as PM ??????? she delegates because she has no experience/knowledge of much at all, example ( rice chairperson )

The lady is only a FIGURE HEAD.--similar to a car badge on the front grill.

The saddest thing about Yingluck is that she probably does not even realize what a laughing stock she is when it comes to running a country.

Very sad to see a beautiful country like Thailand being tortured by the evil Shinawatra regime.

But as incompetent as she is, and as cruel as her puppet master is, I don't think there is any need for insensitive comments like #29 by Thaiready, that is if it has not been removed by the mods already.

I thought the same as you, the comment is racist.

The biggest problem is the mixing/integration. From the north of UK in most places Muslims do not integrate, their religion runs their lives near totally, dress code--to name but one. In the west our religions hardly interfere with our daily lives.

The post #29 points a finger at some basics, but way over the top with his personal attack. I can never understand why religious people cannot mix more and be more tolerant with others, and live more natural lives as we all come and go the same way, it's not as though our births are different.

This South problem is so complicated to unravel it would take a miracle.

Give the same opportunities, pay the same rate, Buddhists tend to mix more easily to my mind Muslims have to bend to the wind more -be more flexible without going against their religion. Then the south has more chance. If not you have created ghetto's

Chalerm will be relieved. Wasn't he in charge but bottled out from actually going there

I thought he had already been relieved and she replaced him with her self.

Bravo yingluck. I must admit I have egg on my face after my last post. How wrong I was…The thing about democracy is admitting when you are wrong and being held accountable for what you said. I will be held accountable for my last post as I support 15 principle of democracy. WOW. I was wrong and I admit it. How refreshing to hear that on TVF. Very rare indeed.

yingluck has delegated work load by assigning minsters to certain tasks.

She should continue down this path by giving timeframes to her ministers to hold them accountable, set parameters and goals to adhere too. She should have a mouth piece that will relay information to the innocent victims of the terrorist as well as the wider community with updates on the progress. Journalists should push ahead with the "hard" questions to enforce accountability for the benefit of the voter base and overall population.

Just like elections being the start of a democracy, delegating a work load is the start of a scheme, project or plan. It cannot stop there. Without a continuation after elections or delegation the system will fail, unaccountability will prevail and the system will back at square one.

Progress is a PTP failure. Lets see that change, yingluck with progress after delegation. I am not optimistic, but I am hopeful. Not for me, but for the majority whose voice is not heard because of PTP arrogance.

Well you have some interesting ideas but you will have to break them down into three and four letter words for her to understand. Then remember qualified people are not allowed to hold position in the PTP. They might challenge Thaksin's word.

Hundreds of innocent people have been murdered by these scum of the earth Muslim separatist...what is needed is boots-on-the-ground...and a take no prisoners attitude...

Perhaps the government should offer the residents of Pattani et al a referendum along the lines of the one the British offered the ..... have to be PC here..... the indigenous population of the Falkland Islands.

Does anyone know how many actually support the Muslim separatists and whether they want an autonomous region, to become part of Malaysia or an independent state?

Why doesn't the Defense Minister do something about it? She's responsible. And it was her family stirring the pot that took this from the odd pipe bomb every couple of years to a full blown insurgency.

Yes they suck. But you need to look into what pissed them off. Taking no prisoners was part of the problem.

I thought she said she was already removed from "Office" Because in another post she says <Quote:> I cannot be removed from Office of Caretaker PM... "Because I have already been removed!"

Then as another twist how can she name anbody as to be in charge of anything..... If she "In her own words" " I have already been removed as Caretaker PM, of this Government....."

Does it mean she has two mouths to speak from? Not sure I want to see the uglyness of the other.... Or is this a new Movie.... "Two Faces of Thailand...."

A bit like the Australian P.M. He delegates the bulk of the work to other ministers instead of doing it himself. He has foreign ministers, education minister, defence, environment, social services and the list is endless. Lazy prick just sits back and gets briefings on everything instead of running the country single handedly. If he actually got off his butt and did everything it would save the tax payer a fortune.

But in this case, Yingluck IS the Defense Minister.

well you certainly squeezed my balls there.
