Shopping today at Rimping minding my own business when I hear someone going off I look around and here is this guy tapping his ginger on the glass of the refrigerated cabinet and I quote " god damn it why don't you talk english " I look around to see and here this loud mouth going off at (2) young girls serving behind the counter he was giving them hell....I tend t mind my own business but every now and then I will make an exception this once one of those moments I quitely walk over and calmy said " is there any need to speak to these girls like that they do not have to speak english you are in their country.

With veins pulsing in his neck he replied who the # # # # are you...calmly I said nobody but manners cost nothing so why not be nice to the girls. Still going off mutterings of how crap the service was here and my favorite ( we would not put up with this back home in the # # # " )

I am about to stick to him big time when a german or dutch gentleman walks over to him and " why don't you # # # # off )

with that he stormed out muttering to himself.

So why is so many " aliens " come and berate the locals why be so nasty and mean is it any wonder that as Westerners we sometimes get frown upon by the locals people like this IDIOT do his own country men no good and and you put's the rest of us in the same basket.

By some rare chance if this guy is a member of TVF you should be ashamed of yourself.

Seen this kind of behaviour so many times.

Never seen anyone tapping ginger on the glass though.

I have seen the roles reversed, yes by Thai ladies and men going off on a farang, sad to say, no Thai admonished them for their behavior. And yes the farang of whom I speak were speaking Thai, but not to the satisfaction of some of the natives.

I blame it on the sign of the moon.

I didnt know what ginger meant so (having the warped mind i have) concluded it must be slang for penis in the Ops country.

The story was much funnier this way butI now realise it doesnt mean this and i feel a bit dissapointed,

Had a White guy go off on a 7-11 girl up here in Chiang Mai because he couldn't understand her Thai. And said "What are you you speaking some sort of hill tribe language?" (All asked in Thai, she was speaking Northern) She go flustered and embarrassed. I then asked him how the hell has he managed to learn enough Thai to communicate (not just 1 or 2 words, he WAS speaking full sentences etc) and not know that in the North they speak a different dialect. He shut up, looked embarrassed and walked out. The 7-11 girl was pissed off, but was thrilled when I and the guy behind her dealt with her in Northern haha.

I think 3 foreigners in the same 7-11 speaking Thai has been a record for me.

Yes know what you mean this was in Chiang Mai, I am learning Thai 3 days a week but my partner and all the friends speak Lana gets bloody confusing and my teacher is not happy when I start saying words in Larna

Although a noble deed, to be sure, I can assure you that had he resorted to violence with these natives, that 50 or so Thai males of the species would have materialized out of the woodwork and turned him into a creamy, white paste.

Matter closed.

When it comes to matters of foreigners berating in this manner, sit back and watch the show that WILL begin were they to resort to physical abuse.

You seem like a kind person, but sometimes it is the better part of valor to to be discreet, when one knows the score beforehand.

On a final note... don't misjudge those girls. Odds are that they are probably tougher than the lunatic were he to push the envelope off the edge of the table top.
