Thailand Post Track and Trace

Featured Replies

Bit tedious but need some thoughts! I send an EMS package to the UK about every three weeks. Never had any problems. However a package sent on Tuesday April 8, usual crazy rate of 1300B or so went to Udon Thani, as usual, into container, dispatched. Has disappeared off the face of the earth. Can't of course get a word of sense out of PO, and anyway it is Songkran. The manifest says it left swampy on Thursday; but in what would be a pleasantly amusing Alice in Wonderland state of affairs, if the contents were not important, it appears to have been dispatched before it arrived there! UK in Coventry have no record! Just a bit tedious due to the contents. What to do?!

I had a similar thing happen to an envelope that I sent EMS to the States. Thai post tracking showed it was still at Suv with no updates. First update was on US postal service tracking when it arrived in New York. Then later Thai post.

I sent an email to Thai post and never got an answer until after it was delivered.

Lots of experience being able to track and trace all the way to LAX and to Heathrow and departure from those airports and there the track goes dead. Hugely annoying. This only happens with EMS out of Thailand and then USPS in US and whatever they call the mail in Blighty. Never ever has the problem occured when sending documents by DHL or UPS. Mind you it's not often that things go missing.

doulble post. sorry.

My experience has been that often there will be long amounts of time with no activity, then all of a sudden a lot of information.

Almost as if they were saving up posting until they had several items to post at once.

This is exactly how tracking always work.

They cannot update thaipost if usps didn't update yet.

EMS Thai post has a special number and can talk with world post services through internal chanel and the way to inquiry about EMS parcel is to call them (even if I hate it).

We send hundreds of EMS monthly and it happens that some take 2 or 3 weeks because of retarded monkeys customs, especially in US, because the tracking is often not updated until parcel LEAVES customs office.

The black hole is CUSTOMS, it will show leaving Thailand, then into the black hole until clears customs and then re enters the postal system in whichever country.

Its not the postal service generally that causes the problem, its the time it takes to clear customs.

One thing if you are sending to the UK make sure you do not put a high value on presents ,they just charged impotrt duty ,as the lady saiid to my sister when she had to pay 70 quid tax ,next time lie.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering about the meaning of something on the ThaiPost Tracker.

I sent off a couple of boxes from my local addressed to Canada back in March, and tracked it through to Bangkok, but can't quite understand if they've caught up there or have been put into a container for forwarding by sea.

Departure From Outward OE

Does that departure from Outward OE mean they're at sea? Anyone know the meaning of the OE bit?

Is thailandpost.com down? I can't get the site to load.

Update

Thailand Post confirms package missing in Suvanarbhumi. Never dispatched: "Sorry, na! Songkran very busy". "No! before Songkran and PO not busy, just incompetent/idle...." oops keep hair on! Not Thai concepts!

I think it means Office of Exchange, i.e. it has passed through outward customs etcetera and is ready to leave the country. From my experience, you won't see any more entries until it arrives at a post office in the destination country (if they offer a tracking service in Canada)

A very late addition to this thread.

I have had a similar experience sending a parcel to a customer in the UK. It took so long the customer started the claim process for a refund in Paypal.

Then yesterday he dropped the claim, and told us he'd received the parcel.

But in Thailand Post/Royal Mail track and trace, it still shows up only as "Departure from outward OE" (Swampy) despite the fact it's already been delivered in the UK.

Maybe it will show up in Royal Mail or Thailand Post early this coming week. I think I have to educate my customers on how track and trace is a second-rate tracking process, and encourage them not to worry to much, or better, we will try to access UPS or Fedex at reasonable rates.

Now, what is status of your parcel?
