Police ordered to hunt for gunmen storming people's houses

BANGKOK: -- Police in Bangkok's suburban Pathum Thani Province have been ordered to hunt for a group of unidentified gunmen who stormed people's houses earlier this week, injuring several persons.

Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Pol. Gen. Chidchai Vanasatidya told journalists Wednesday that he had ordered Pathum Thani police chief to track down the culprits and bring them to justice soonest possible.

"The case will prove the efficiency of the local police force and will show that even influential figures are to be under the law", he said.

The houses of two Pathum Thani residents, Mr. Kasem Phusomjai and Mr. Prasan Rungruang who are drivers of the province's Tambon Bangluang administrative body, were earlier this week raided and stormed by the group of unidentified gunmen using M16 rifles. Several people in the houses were wounded in the attacks

Pol. Gen. Chidchai stressed that the government's crackdown on influential figures and drugs are to be continued and strengthened.

The deputy premier, who oversees national security affairs, said he had instructed intelligence units to always update those on the government's blacklist of influential figures throughout the kingdom.

Try the local army barracks.

They have easy access to M16 rifles. :o

Check the Thaksin payroll.

The were probably trying to hit a stash of black money. :o That won't be investigated.
