Can anyone recommend a nice secluded place to stay in Koh Tao with good snorkelling close by, budget 2000 - 3000 pn? The Ao Muang Resort looks ok but I am thinking that there might be better available for the same price?

Since no answers here, I will say this....

Ao Muang at Mango bay would certainly be secluded... Mango bay is used by day trippers from Samui and KP for a few hours each day arriving by boats .... other wise it should be very quiet... / secluded!

The road up there is quite rough and not on the beaten track!! Probably best to get to by Long tail boat....(perhaps the resorts organize that, with booking?) There is another resort there too, Mango Bay Resort... (not listed on this web site)

It's been a few years since I was there, but I don't remember a beach (at Mango Bay resort but perhaps there is a Ao Muong.... ? .... but for snorkeling etc it would be great!

East side resorts would also be pretty secluded too... not seen so won't comment!
