Anyone seen this on your dog?

Featured Replies

.

Deeohhgee has had this hair loss around his eye for about a week. He hates to ride in the car so a trip to the vets is very traumatizing.

Has anyone had a similar case?

Hes been bitten by Misquotes in his Sleep, dont worry it common in most Dogs here. Normally when they are Young .

If the dog does not like to travel, just take a few close up clear pics of the problem and take to the vet.

I did this a few days ago with our dog re a rash on her belly...vet gave tablets and was looking better just 2 days later and all for just 200b.

appears to be some kind of mange, but best to check with a vet.

my doggy is getting similar looking things all over her body,

at first they tested it and said fungal , 3 weeks on medication and its getting worse.

today changed to antibiotics and antihistamine to see if anything changes

I have no desire to scare you but my golden had something similar and it turned out to be skin cancer. Check it out with a GOOD vet ASAP.

anything involving eyes= vets. so throw the dog in the car, trauma or not, and get thee to a good vet, opthamology in dogs is difficult to diagnose in pictures....

either way it looks like it is a combination of a few things and might need a culture to be taken or a scraping etc... dont wait, eye infections are a pain to treat in dogs, and will beat the trauma of a ride in the car by alot (creams and drops a few times a day on an unwilling large dog).

does not look like a bug bite on the eye, which would just be a swollen eye. it looks cruddier and more bacterial /fungal or a combination.

Mange, my dog had it too. He'll need to get in that car and vet time it is.

Seen this on many black dogs with Labrador type hair in Thailand, I presumed it was some genetic thing.
