Foreigners will be charged 500 Baht according the double charging plan.

Double pricing is not just in Thailand. I was in Penang last week and the price for Malays up the Penang Hill funicular was 8 ringgit.

30 ringgit 'all other nationalities' Almost four times more, and it was barely worth it - there's not a lot up there.

It is much better if you walk it. (and free too)

yes they all come to thailand because the thai are so much stupider than other nationalities. so easier to crook from. everybody, even the chinese know that.

They forgot to mention that there is only one of these 100 baht tours available. And it's booked. So sorry guys it's "fully booked" for the rest if us.

Like in Spain yonks ago, we all went out on the razzle one night and entered a bar Because it said " FREE DRINK ALL NIGHT" yes we thought it was free DRINKS all night. This TAT will be the same sort of thing the first one at immigration will receive the tour for 100 baht. BUT THAI national.

this is for locals. plenty of thai have never left their province/ampheu, never seen that must-see waterfall, never bought the "amphawa" shirt, etc...

oh well u can laugh with it but remember that some decades ago where i come from many people had never seen the sea..............

Umm...300 million expected from 200000 people...that in my math makes 1500 Baht per person, not 100...but anyone who expects to get anything worthwhile with that price is deluded anyway.

Keep going TAT. I believe will be looking something else elsewhere. The scams and double pricing has taken it's toll not to mention living here 10+ years. To relax I rather look some other country where they don't try to skim or scam you in every turn and twist.

What happened to the "luxury or high level" tourists instead of the "backpackers" they were seeking? Me thinks they are happy now to get any tourists brave enough to chance this political turmoil...cheesy.gif

read the article. this targets DOMESTIC tourism.

Next thing will be TAT Lucky bags for arriving tourists..."Tatty Bags" for short....including a cheap pair of flip flops (size 12) a beany hat...with I love Tat written all over it and a bar of soap...especially for tourists from.......................mai K Jai.....

Just because it happens in other countries, doesn't justify it here!

Personally, I'd like to see a pinned map of all the places in the land of scams that people suggest, 'food was great, service was wonderful, they had the famous thai smile, but, well, once was enough........' If you get my drift.

This reminds me of when I first came to Thailand and the Tuk Tuk drivers would offer to give me a tour of Bangkok for ten Baht. Straight to the tailor shop we went and the Tuk Tuk driver disappeared out the back door. I wonder how many shops you will be taken to with this Bt. 100 scheme. Welcome to Thailand; Hub of Scams.

And if it wasn't tuk-tuks taking you to tailor shops for 10 baht, it was cops in uniforms taking unsuspecting tourists to gem shops. We were even offered to be escorted to a special "one day only sale" by two cops in a BMW. What altruistic, public-spirited behaviour those gentlemen showed - a credit to their jobs. rolleyes.gif

Could well be something really exciting as all TAT promotions are.

entry into an OTOP exhibition,

discount on top up on D tac mobiles

100 baht paid for beach clean up----- tourist enthusiasts.

voucher for jet ski discount

100 baht discount for any underwater weddings

But cost the tax payer about 6 billion in losses.

Like mentioned earlier.... here come the PTP populist 'vote for us and get cheap beano' policies.

The six months that Suthep is tearing the country down has cost at least 3 times that 6 billions, so any idea to help the country recovering should be considered !

Although it might take a few years to recover from the huge losses that Suthep is responsible for.
