angelsephemera
I will be in laos next week for a 25 days. Are there any places (Wats) where I can do a retreat. Though I have some grounding in meditation and vipassana my lao/thai is very poor. Recommendations welcome.
sabaijai
I don't know of any places in Laos that offer meditation retreats. Some Lao wats do specialise in meditation, but the availability of English instructions is virtually nil. At Wat Sok Pa Luang in Vientiane, abbot Ajahn Sali used to lead daily or weekly group meditation sessions. I heard that he took on western students from time to time. Sadly he passed away last year, and I'm not sure whether the tradition has been carried on. It might be worth a trip to the wat to ask.
angelsephemera
Wat Nakoon Noi, North of Vientiane is supposed to offer retreat. You know of it?
