Nong Bon Lake Water Sports Center - Windsurfing

Featured Replies

How is this place for windsurfing?

40B/year with free use of all equipment sounds not bad!

I'm guessing week days would be better, weekends would be full of kids?

And for people who have been there, how do you get there from bts onnut? Probably just get a taxi, but I don't know how I would say or describe where it is in thai.

Thanks

Long dead thread, but near and dear to me. I'd been to this place several times and never did see any activity until this this month, when I tried it one more time.

Went to visit the place on the Queen's birthday, saw favorable signs that something was going on...but the guys told me to come back the next day- closed.

Went back the next Saturday, and I think I actually signed up. Not much activity, lots of sailboats and kayaks laying around, beckoning someone to take them out.

Unfortunately, nobody that spoke English, though the nice lady took my 40 baht, gave me a receipt and wrote my name into some kind of ledger. Perhaps someone can translate the brochure so I know what I signed up for....

BTW, the day I took these pictures, there wasn't a whisper of wind, and even the Thai locals were wiping the sweat off on the BTS- it was HOT that day. Maybe why there weren't many boats out.

Looks like this could be a great activity, and just a 65 baht cab ride from Udon Suk BTS (75 baht on the way back- on account of traffic.) Even without the boats, it's a nice picnic area, with people playing basketball and croquette.
