Nutmeg and mace

Featured Replies

Is this the correct Thai script for nutmeg/mace:

ดอกจัน (dok jan/dok chan)

I understand that it means either mace or nutmeg. Are there separate words for mace and nutmeg?

Thank you for your help.

Regarding the question I just posted relating to NUTMEG and MACE, I previously posted a similar question on April 15 and received the words for nutmeg (Myristica fragrans):

จันทน์เทศ JAN TET (nutmeg in general)

ลูกจันทน์เทศ LOOK JAN TET (nutmeg seed)

ต้นจันทน์เทศ DON JAN TET (nutmeg tree)

เม็ดจันทน์เทศ MET JAN TET (nutmeg seed/OK to use for nutmeg)

This time, I would like to know:

1. What is DOK JAN actually?

2. Is there another specific word for mace?

Thank you for your help.

Nutmeg is จันทน์เทศ (JAN TET)

Mace is ดอกจันทน์เทศ (DORK JAN TET)

DORK JAN is simply short for DORK JAN TET
