Anyone know of any thai art galleries that are producing stuff that is a bit more than the usual templs and elephants ?

If you don't want elephants, stay away from the tourist shops ! Having said that, there are a number of good art galleries around BKK.

If you're interested in a new experience, check out the only night-time art gallery in BKK. Art At Play (http://www.artatplay.com), is only open evenings, on Silom soi 4, next to Bobby's Arms.
