Anyone got a metal detector?

Featured Replies

I need to beg or borrow a metal detector to pass over an object to ascertain if it is metal or contains metal. Happy to come to you and let you give the object the 'once over'.

Please only respond if you have or know someone that has a metal detector.

Suggestions like pass an electric currant through it,

or use a meter to check continuity are not helpful as materials other than metal are conductive.

Many thanks in anticipation

A magnet would be simpler and easier to find.

Just download a metal detector app to your smartphone. I have used this several times to find pipes and wireing in walls before drilling.

Go to the beach near the Royal cliff at night as when we stay there every night there are many people with them walking up and down the beach when the tide is out as i am sure on most of the beaches there.
