I got divorced last year, I have had my 15 months out of this Non O visa. I plan to take my son back to the uk in a couple
of months.

Rather than take the long journey to Savannakhet and risk being turned down for a Non O as I do not have financials, I decided I will go and get a single entry tourist visa from Vientiane.

Is it quite straight forward to do this and will the embassy staff turn me down as I was on Non O before?

Also when entering Thailand again do I need to show 20,000 baht funds and information where i will be staying etc?

Thanks for your help

You could get a single entry non-o without a problem. Just your sons birth certificate and his house book.

I can get this in Vientiane?

They do a single entry non-o visas without a problem.

Better than a single entry tourist visa and 900 baht cheaper because you don't need an extension to get the same 90 days.

I have his birth certificate, divorce paper and letter from the court giving me sole custody. I rent a house here

so his name is not on the house book. All i have is a copy of the house book?

Ok, I have found a copy of the house book from when I lived in Samui and this has his name on it. So I can use

this + birth certificate + letter from court and I will be able to get a single entry at Vientiane without having to show

financials?

Thanks again

Visa granted without any problems. She asked me if I came alone and then asked to see my divorce paper,

But that was it.

Thanks
