Thailand faces monsoons, rainstorms, and earthquakes

BANGKOK, 9 June 2014 (NNT) - Three provinces in different parts of Thailand have recently been affected by a monsoon, a rainstorm, and an earthquake.

Thousands of dead crabs have been mysteriously washed ashore at Pa Lai Beach in Phuket province on June 8th due to monsoon winds. Following this phenomenon, a lot of fishermen were afraid to set sail onto the Andaman Sea.

In Phitsanulok Province, a heavy rainstorm and gusty winds have destroyed roofs of several homes in a local village. Damages were estimated to be at around 50,000 baht. Local authorities are set to deliver remedial measures to help residents affected by the storm.

Meanwhile, a 1.9 magnitude aftershock was detected at Mae Suai district, Chiang Rai province at 9:35 PM on June 8th. Another 2.3 magnitude aftershock followed two hours later in Mae Lao District.

However, these aftershocks were believed to have occurred due to an earthquake in Myanmar Province measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale, rather than the one that struck Chiang Rai on May 5th. The quake in Myanmar was about 195 kilometers away from Mae Hong Son Province.

Mention a 1,9 after shock...thats great but what about those more then 1000 after shocks and new earth quakes which have hit Chiang Rai in Phan,Mae Suai and Mae lao since the big 6,3 hit.

And if those earth quakes in Myanmar and Laos makes us having after shocks we will a lot as right now there are earth quakes all over Myanmar,Laos,China and the Philippines.

Earthquake in Myanmar sends aftershocks in Chiang Rai

BANGKOK: -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck inside Myanmar at 4.14 p.m on Sunday, according to the National Disaster Warning Centre.

The epicentre was two kilometres underground, about 195 kilometres northwest of Muang district of Mae Hong Son province.

Meanwhile the centre said a 1.9 magnitude aftershock was detected in Mae Suai district of Chiang Rai at 9.35 p.m. on Sunday.

Another 2.3 magnitude aftershock followed two hours later in Mae Lao district of Chiang Rai.

The centre said the aftershocks in Chiang Rai’s Mae Suai and Mae Lao districts were believed to have originated from the earthquake in Myanmar measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, rather than from the major 6.3 magnitude that struck Chiang Rai on May 5.

No mention of floods, the biggest disasters that happen in thailand all too often.

But mentioning them publicly is now stricly no no, as there are no anymore water management works being carried on for sometimes, possibly a long time. Bangkok will be saved again, but only the eastern one, with airports, metro, skytrain. The western will be flooded again. Don't be not surprised to wake up in october with a hand in a chamber pot full of water

I'm still bracing for the lashing rain we were told to expect from 3rd to 6th June. I guess "lashing rain" means different things to different people ... including "continued hot and arid." Do you need a prescription for a "bisquet," or are you promoting Mexican cuisine?

"But mentioning them publicly is now stricly no no ..."

And yet here you are mentioning them publicly.

"Don't be not surprised to wake up in october with a hand in a chamber pot full of water "

Nothing don't be not surprising me anymore here at the hub of the inane, but chamber pots in October would come close.

Time to get the monks involved for a blessing, the sky is falling

Just put on your amulet of invincibility.

If you don't have one, you can no doubt purchase as many as you wish from you neigbourhood Monks.

Something for everyone, depending on how much protection you need, the quality of that protection and of course....how much you are willing to invest.

Local authorities, puu...and so , yes that is where the corruption starts at the bottom and painfully harm the poor!
