Tax clearance for non-imm "b" visa

When i got my Non-imm "B" mulitple entry Visa at the Thai Consulate in New Orleans they told me that I need a tax clearance before I leave Thailand.

Is this true?

If so, where do I get one (I live in Pattaya)?

I don't work in Thailand, I'm here for about 3 months at a time and out for 3 months (to work).  ???

The consulate has given you wrong advise, they must be living in the past. Totally wrong! The tax clearance was scrapped back in 1991, so you don't need to do it.

That's good news.

I'm not surprised if they have the wrong information. As far as I know, the lady  that work in the consulate has never even been to Thailand.
