I need a x-ray. Where to go please ?

Fell of a bike offroading a few weeks back and, though I seemed fine at the time, my wrist has gradually been playing up bit by bit. So I just want to get it checked out by having a x-ray.

Any idea what the price of a wrist x-ray would cost say in the Ram ? Lanna ? Just rough prices would be fine (I did try googling this without joy). My friend recently paid 17,000 baht for one night in the Ram (no minor op or anything) so thats put me of going there.

Any other suggestions as to where I could get this done without TOO long a wait. Normally I wouldnt mind waiting at all but the up coming world cup see,s me in my busiest period in 4 years with work so ideally wouldnt want to wait for hours - though up to an hour would be fine.

Im wondering if that Dr Surgery in Loh Kroh road might have a x-ray machine anyone know ?

Maybe spending a few hundred baht on an evaluation by an orthopedist would be a better first step. One will be needed to order the proper study and interpret the Xray(s) anyway, should an Xray actually be indicated after a clinical assessment.

For a 300-baht x-ray and a 300-baht consultation you can see a bone specialist at the Chanakarn Clinic on the west side of the river, across from Rajawet Hospital. Check out the pinned entries on Recommended Doctors and Medical Specialists above. You'll find him listed under ORTHOPAEDIC (Bones/Joints).

He's at his clinic Monday-Friday from 5:30 until 8 p.m., and on Saturday mornings from 9-12. He's also at Rajawet Hospital on Fridays from 4-5.

I cant give you am exact cost of an X Ray why not call any of the hospitals or just turn up at out patients.

17,000 baht for one night at RAM with nothing done is nonsense.Of course "something" was done !

A room cost o/n at RAM is between 1200-1800 baht, my wife,who was having a procedure next morning just spent a night there and that included me sleeping on the sofa.

Go to Sriphat Hospital and take the elevator to the 13th floor and ask to see an orthopedic doctor - xray should cost about 400 baht and the doctors fee about 300 baht.

Sriphat is near to Suan Doc and Maharaj hospitals, at the 9pm position on the clock face map, on the right hand side, it's a part of CMU so the quality of care is high.

Dr. Thawatchai at Loi Kroh clinic does indeed have an X-Ray machine. The last time I had an x-Ray there it cost 300baht, but that was about 2 years ago.

If you really want to save money go to the "X-Ray Clinic" just before Central Festival on the road that runs alongside the Super Highway. it's about 1/2 way between RAM2 hospital and Central Festival. large sign, recently put up in English "X-Ray". very short wait, results immediately. the older lady doctor is very nice and speaks excellent English. had my knee x-rayed there recently - 300 Bath. they also do CT scan, ultrasound, etc.

If you go up Suthep Rd., about 150 meters past Canal Rd., to that store on the left, which sells common household items. They actually have some pretty good elastic wrist bandages for 20 THB. I got 30 very good adhesive bandages for 10 thb. If nothing is sticking out, or crunching, remember RICE=rest, ice, compression, elevation......you might have just strained the piss out of the ligaments, like if your fingers went all the way back and touched your wrist...x-rays will be almost normal, if not completely.

If you are looking for broken bones it would be a wast of time and money for an Xray. You would be more than just 'playing up' if it was broken. Get a wrist supporter at a pharmacy.

I didn't just make this up. Doctors have told me this. Even when I had cracked bones, I asked 'What can I do?' and they said your foot will tell you what you can do.

My doctor sent me there. I am not one who is in to self diagnosing. She even sent me to the ram once.

Too late to do anything about it now. If there is / was any minor break or fracture it will have started to re-fuse already. More likely that you have some related soft tissue damage that would be best served by a physiotherapist.

Agree. McCormick have such a specialist, quite young very pleasant guy good listener, speaks advanced English, obviously well educated in his field, has experience, he completed some complex back assessment documents I needed to send back to ........ response was that the assessment was very well conducted and explained very well and very clearly.

Waiting time to see the specialist varies, usually less than an hour, about 350 - 400Baht for a consultation. X rays at this hospital about 250 - 300Baht each. After specialist orders x rays usually all completed and back with the specialist within 20 - 30 minutes.

Then see the specialist again for his findings. All covered in one consulting fee.
