angelsephemera
Recommend a shop for front doors - HomePro is ok but I couldn't see any architrave - they don't use it here?
krisb
Course they do. Try looking for floor skirting. Same same.
eyecatcher
Its rarely used, as is skirting which they tend to paint a brown stripe around the bottom. 2nd fix timbers are just expensive for the common man here, intact for us also. So they will chamfer the wall render to give a quirk into the door frames.
angelsephemera
no architrave really makes a difference- it makes the doors look shit... I have examined my neighbours doors and seen two which have an ornate but effective columnar type architrave and headpiece. more legwork.
eyecatcher
Yes the fluted archies are quite Georgian and the beauty about the corner finials is the are easy to fit and no need for mitres. You can find this moulding in Global, if you are going to paint it then look for mdf it will save you a lot of cash.
angelsephemera
Time I went to global for a major shop (minimum for free delivery is about 5K I guess?)
