Best Music Venues

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been in Thailand/Bangkok for some time, about 1 year. I happen to live in Lad Phrao, and I enjoy getting out and about when I can find the time. However, I haven't ventured out much for entertainment/relaxation. I was wondering where are the best or most favoured music venues in Bangkok and other places in Thailand (e.g., Pattaya & Hua Hin). I'm not talking about the Impact Arena for a huge concert, but rather smallerl places to enjoy a drink and relax. Take a friend or meet a new one. Perhaps enjoy a view of the city or an interesting/eclectic crowd. Young or older (over 30). Not only Western music, but Thai music as well. Live music or just background music. Where do people like to go? What exactly do you like about the place? I know this is a broad topic and everyone has different tastes. Thailand will be my home for some time, and I'd like to explore a bit. Thanks in advance your thoughts and suggestions...

If you search the Bangkok forum, you will find a plethora of answers for you.

For Bangkok, for Ambiance (but not music), a nice view of the City, the Long Table near the junction of Sukhumvit and Asoke Rds.

That should start you off.

EDIT ... From your OP question, this fits in the 'take a friend' category.

You are asking a very tough question. Each city has it's own venues. If you are interested in Bangkok, as mentioned above, do a search in that forum and I know you'll find quite a few threads discussing this. I've also seen them in the various sub forums for each area of the country. One was in the Pattaya forum not too long ago.
