Border At Prachuap Khiri Khan

I heard that there is a new border crossing close to Prachuap Khiri khan, can anyone confirm this?

There is one at Singkhon, just a few kms south of the main crossroads that lead to Prachuap itself. It's via a new road that leads off to the right and is well signposted.

Havn't been there myself, but I hear that it's for Thais and Burmese only. You can't cross the border. I think you can get extensions, but that can be done in HH now.

Apparantly, the Thai side is fairly developed, but there's nothing on the Burmese side other than a dirt track and jungle.

Maybe in the future?

Have used Singkhon many times, to extend my visa before the HH immigration branch opened, its not a comfortable place!

They were planning on opening the border for foreigners, but last i heard of that was over a year ago. Its still just for the Thais and the Burmese logging trucks.
