Koh Lanta would be what I would recommend, hillsides above Khlong Nin, but be aware low season this side now, big wind and rain onshore (not all the time) so might want to wait until later in the year. Small bungalows with kitchen. Thanks for the Lanta suggestion. My main problem with Lanta is the limited food shopping as I like to cook for myself. I would prefer somewhere on the mainland so I can take my motorbike to a supermarket when I need. I wasn't aware the weather was so bad at the moment but if I come it'll definitely be July.
