Police arrest two Myanmar men over gory murder

BANGKOK: -- TWO MYANMAR nationals have been arrested for allegedly killing a fellow citizen, whose body was found in a large bin in the boot of a taxi in Samut Sakhon's Muang district.

Police identified the suspects as Chi San Maung, 36, and Ta Kyi, 27, while the victim was identified as 43-year old Tan Nya Buk.

Chi San Muang was arrested in Nonthaburi's Bang Yai district, while |Ta Kyi was nabbed near a house where the victim was killed, police |said.

Taxi driver Uthai Petsikiew had alerted the authorities of the murder at 1am on Tuesday after finding the victim's body in the boot of his car.

According to Uthai, the suspects had flagged him down at Soi Panunpon in Samut Sakhon's Muang district and wanted to be taken to the Samaedum area.

Before boarding the cab, the suspects put a large bin in the taxi-cab's boot.

The passengers then asked to get off at Rama II Road to allegedly make a phone call before disappearing. The cabbie then checked the bin and discovered a body in it.

Upon arrest, the police found the suspects in possession of the metal rods they had used to kill the victim. Police also found signs of fighting and blood in the victim's room.

The suspects have apparently confessed to killing the man for reportedly embezzling the Bt17,000 they had paid for a work permit.

So all the TV homicide detectives were wrong!

Hats off to the police for a very quick result this time around!

I agree, hats off to the BIB, see they can get results when they have too, and when not to busy to just covering up actions of ........

The story changed a bit. Instead of 1 teenager asking for the ride and lifting the body into the trunk it's now 2 grown-ups. It makes a difference. Also stopping the taxi along the way to make a "phone call" and then disappearing adds more sense to the real story now coming to light. Why is it so diificult to report the real facts from the start? TIT or what?

Two "Myanmar" nationals. Had it been two Thais there would either be no story or it would be two "men."

So in your home country if two of your fellow citizens did a similar deed, would they be referred to as Two XXX Nationals?

Absolutely agree with your comment about the police getting a quick result.

Now do the same with the murdering red thugs and bring them to justice.

Another fantastic example of the countries journalists at work here. I assume it's the same story. Yesterday, it was one 'teenage boy' who clambered into the back of the taxi after depositing his grisly fare in the trunk.

Now there were two of them, and the body was also in a bin. Facts travel through an unfamiliar dimension in the world of Thai media.

Referring to the fantastic journalist. Was this the guy who had is "throat cut at the throat" rolleyes.gif
