jackoholly
Hi AllDoes anyone know the law on tasers, batons and pepper spray whether they're legal or not?I know you can buy them all in markets and night bazaars and they're all readily available but that doesn't mean they're legal. In a lot of counties they're considered a firearm. I know Thailand is relatively safe but for added security a lot of people have or are considering buying one of them. I posted this in the 'Ask the Lawyers' section but no reply unfortunatelyAny info is appreciated. Thanks
johnnygimbo
As far as I am concerned, when it comes to defending yourself, anything goes, your health and well being is more important than any law anyone makes up.
pgrahmm
I think in defending yourself you cannot have the alpha weapon - like a gun drawing down on a knife.......that's how it was described to me - but by a farang not a Thai.....personally I think the baton is best....... Sometimes a pocket full of salt - or insect/ant/bug/hornet spray would come in handy in some situations.....any of those in a face/eyes (person/dog) would work.....
