MZurf Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I recently updated a lot of programs on the PC (unfortunately) using Baidu PC Faster and now I'm not able to "see" the Android devices I connect to it, although it can see a USB stick. I have tried running a system restore but I cannot - it comes up with an error message when the reboot has been done. Any ideas?
NeverSure Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Have you tried uninstalling that software with CCleaner and then cleaning the registry with CCleaner after a reboot? Maybe it's to late, but I use the backup scheduler and make an image of my system drive every morning at 2:00 while I sleep. The worst that can happen is that I roll back a few hours or even a day or two if I screw it all up.
RichCor Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Similar to what NeverSure suggests, are there additional previous 'restore points' on other 'dates' that you can try in System Restore? The previous one may not work, but are there some before that?
jack2964 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Have you inadvertently swapped your device usb cables? Happened to me once when I mixed up my Samsung cables and couldn't get my PC to read the contents of the phone although it will charge it.
