Back to back tourist visas?

Featured Replies

I'm been hearing conflicting information from co workers, facebook etc. I was hoping I could get a clear answer about the rules regarding back to back tourist visas.

I'm here with my wife, she's also a foreigner, and has taken a job teaching kid. She got a work permit and the visa that goes with it. I have a tourist visa.

We were hoping to stay for another 6 months or so, and in that time we plan on visiting places like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, Cambodia, etc.

Is it going to be a problem for me to get 2 or 3 back to back tourist visas? I really don't want to get denied entrance, and then my wife is put in a position where she has to go retrieve all our stuff, quit her job, cancel the lease, etc, because only she can get back into the country.

Any help would be most appreciated.

You do not need tourist visas if you wife has work permit and a extension of stay (it is not a visa) she obtained at immigration. You can get an extension as her dependent. You would need to get a single entry non-o visa to apply for it. Then if you want to travel you would just need a re-entry permit.

A 2 entry tourist visa would give you about 6 months of stay. Just make one border run to use the 2nd entry.
