T_Dog
Having had some mean scratches from boxing up and traveling with my bike, thought I would share this video. Those foam tubes can be bought at Home Pro or other hardware stores and it is worth taking your time to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H2TZ3wvZKY
CNXBKKMAN
Good video but I always leave the back wheel on and use one of those plastic axel bung things for the front fork dropouts to stop the forks being bent when there is no wheel attached. I would also add my name contact details , flight details etc written on a piece of paper stuck on the bike within the box just incase the box gets shredded and lost somewhere. More chance it turn up later if the baggage tag comes off also.
GuestHouse
I ship my bike in a bike box I bought from www.BikeBoxAlan.com, the all in weight including box, bike, pump and tools is just under 20Kgs.
moonoi
Anyone know of a decent bike box for a frame with a integrated seatpost, and isn't insanely expensive? Seems to be something of a nightmare trying to find anything that fits my size L frame TCR Advanced SL ISP

moonoi
There's the slight problem of re-attaching it afterwards though.......
T_Dog
I had a hard case years ago, but found I could pack the bike in a smaller box if I custom cut it. Moonoi, you might want to find large bike box and cut it to your needs. The box can be used multiple times with more application of Gorilla tape! CobraSnakeNecktie
Measure the distance from the bottom of bottom bracket up to top of seatpost. I doubt there is a standard bike box that tall. Can take two boxes and cut parts off of one and add to the other. Just keep in mind the L x W x H limit of ? 62 dimensional inches? Would be nice to have a integrated seatpost otherwise. Must be rigid.

Must be rigid. It is, but also very comfortable I'm sold on the benefits of an ISP, just wish it wasn't so hard to transport!
