phetphet
I am sitting here near Green Mango watching the Police catch all the tourists for no helmets. What is laughable is that the helmets that most tourists are wearing going past, (those Big C types), look better quality than those the Police themselves are wearing. :-)

phetphet
Must have been 15-20 of them, with a desk setup in soi GM., and a nice long queue of people queuing up to pay their fines. Drew quite an audience, with the Thais further back towards the lake road turn off warning everyone. Funnily enough, I haven't seen the stop at Bangrak by the airport turn off recently. I think they must have found a better earner.
Birdman
I rather think they want to transform Samui to helmets only on bikes, like everywhere else. And then KPG

Popular Post phetphet
Well someone must have been given a kick up the backside... About 12 motorbikes parked on these new yellow lines that have recently been painted opposite Solo Bar. Lone policeman turns up on Honda Click about 8:30pm, pulls out about 20ft of chain moves as many as he can closer together and starts to immobilise them by running the chain through the rear wheels. Not enough chain, so makes a phone call... 15 mins later big black BMW motorbike with lights flashing arrives with more chain, and together they chain all the bikes and write tickets. Then move on to the next yellow line. What with the helmet check this afternoon, the BIB are really raking it in today. Seems like they are enforcing parking rules as well now, so be careful where you leave your bike. Don't know what it's going to be like when high season kicks in.

And then KPG trySooner that happens the quicker the mortality rate on Samui will drop. Can't come soon enough for my liking.
