Popular Post samuibruno
Go told some time ago that taxis had been told to park only in designated areas Didnt think too much about it un til i went thru chaweng a few days ago and realised that there were not so many taxis around and lots of parking avaliable With a closer look i realised that the taxis were only parked on newly painted yellow and white curbs in certain areas What an amazing sight Ive been going thru chaweng for a long time and never could get a park as the place was packed full of taxis Also noticed the same new paint on the curbs outside of seatran ferry terminal in bangrak Apparently only 2 taxis are supposed to park in these areas ,others must move along Hope this lasts for a while
Tropicalevo
Thanks for that Bruno - I wondered what the yellow/white cheques were for. Yes - I too noticed lots of 'free' curb space in both Chaweng and Bangrak. I also noticed some folk in the Bangrak market area that were moving-on the 'mobile' fruit sellers. (Those selling from the back of their trucks.) The folk were not BIBs but were dressed in brown with the words 'City Law Enforcement' written on the backs of their jackets. Maybe these folk are from the local government - I read somewhere that local government law enforcers were now in charge of drug offenses. (As opposed to the police.) PoorSucker
They have been busy painting corners red and white on Chaweng lakeview road. No stop zone on the seven shops.
notmyself
I have this image of disgruntled taxi drivers carrying a can of paint and a brush at the dead of night.

Have you ever known one to do an honest day's work?

Nah - not taxi drivers. Have you ever known one to do an honest day's work? Surreptitiously going around painting lines (vandalism) in order to be able to legally illegal park cannot be considered an honest day's work.
