Can Someone Interpret This Bill for Me?

Featured Replies

It seems I can't make calls to TOT's short number (1100) so I'm planning on getting a local Sim card today. In the meantime I've encountered something strange, a bill from ToT when I have no phone service (except an expired Sim from DTAC) and my Internet company is True Internet.

Needless to say I'm very curious what this bill's about, if someone would be so kind to translate what the listed charge is for. Seems to be for something rather small (103 baht total).

Yes it is in my name. I wonder if TOT is billing me because True Internet is running DSL to my apartment? that is the only thing I can think about and it sounds strange that they would bill me for that.

I remember when I rented a town house a few years ago that the internet ran through the phone line to my router so I had to pay for a phone also.

.

AHA! They got your name from True and are charging for line maintenance.

Has anyone in a similar position not paid? I have no contract with TOT and am curious what would happen if I just ignored them.

The bill is definitely related to True Internet service. I use True but not ASDL ,quite a while back I used TT&T Internet (before it split into 3B) and there was a monthly TOT line charge. This was the standard 100 baht +vat ie 107 baht/m. The amount on your bill is odd, have you recently had the service installed (within the last2/3 months) this would explain a part month charge.

As for not paying, well up to you, but it is associated with True internet and TOT may well cut the line due to non payment giving you the problem of reconnection. Also as for no contract with TOT it may well be included in the True contract. Suggest contact True and or TOT for clarification. If in condo then contact management.

It's the rental for the landline your ADSL connection uses (your ADSL box will be connected to a phone line socket if you look).

100 baht per month, plus any phone calls you might make. VAT at 7% applies.

True don't own the landline your ADSL needs, TOT do. You will have agreed to this when you signed up with True. If you don't pay then eventually your line will be cut and by default, your internet.

Hal,

For the sake of $3, I'm not sure if I would tempt fate as the sudden disconnection of the service may end up being either costly or at least very frustrating in trying to sort out.

I find it interesting that the TOT letterhead has the true monogram in the background In the middle of the page, obviously there will be mentioned something in your contract papers with true about this. Have you read through all the documents you have with true?
