July 15, 201411 yr I am moving from Bangkok (Onnut) to Victoria, BC, Canada, at the end of July or mid August. I would like to ask for recommendations on a reliable international moving service, or if EMS might work just as well for the cost, or possibly taking an extra 2-3 suitcases on the plane and paying the extra luggage costs (not sure if that is possible or what the cost would be, I have seen approx 75-100USD/extra bag). Things are: 2 small monitor speakers, about 2 large black garbage bags of clothes, some books, odds and ends. Thanks
July 16, 201411 yr Author I am thinking now that a moving company probably won't be necessary for the amount of stuff I have. I plan to take the two monitor speakers on the plane as extra baggage, the books and clothes can go by land. So if shipping just a few boxes by land, can anyone recommend a reliable service for this? EMS? Thanks
July 19, 201411 yr You seem to have it pretty well in hand. You can use EMS, or the extra luggage route - undoubtedly, your choice will be made on cost. If you use a ship, the cost will be about 10,000THB per cubic meter.
July 20, 201411 yr Don't know if they're present in Thailand, but I've been very happy twice with Seven Seas. They specialize in small moves. Very reasonable prices and efficient service.
July 27, 201411 yr Author i have a good size box of books, and clothes, EMS charges about 11k to send their largest box, which isn't big enough for what i have. So maybe a moving company would be better. Any thoughts? Thanks
