Should I be worried?

Featured Replies

I'm a Canadian male 45 and I will be arriving in Thailand on the 19th of August 2014. I will have a triple entry tourist visa issued here in Canada. My departure is on February 1st 2015. My stay is five months and two weeks. I will be staying with my girlfriend in Rayong. In 2012 I stayed in BKK for four months and last year I stayed in BKK for a month and a half. My passport is new and only shows my stay in 2013 for a month and a half. I'm not going there to work I have a good job here that allows me to travel for long periods. My questions are these: Will I be allowed in at swampy due to my extended stay? If so, when I need to get my second entry stamp my plan was to do and in-out in Poi Pet as I had done my very first trip in 2012. Will I be allowed back in? Do I have to stay in Cambodia for any length of time to not be refused? My third entry will be done in Laos but I plan to spend a week or two there. I'm simply a tourist ready to spend money in the LOS and that's all. I'd rather not do these "visa runs" and just stay in Thailand but it's what "they" require. Is the plan to scare all tourists away? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I should add: I contacted the the Thai Embassy here in Toronto and this is what I got. "It shouldn’t be a problem for a same-day re-entry. However, I have heard recently that some people have had issues with same day re-entries. You may want to check the www.thaivisa.com forums for the latest on the ground information." Not much help eh?

As per the current stories, you should be ok on first entry almost for sure. Second entry? I guess so, but a little more risky

The rejections are all for people with multiple entries per year. Usually for many years

No, since there is no border entry point with that name. You should use one of the many regular immigration entry points. There is a complete list somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Sorry...I mean Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Thanks for the input. My first entry will be on arrival. It's the second and third I'm worried about. As I said I have only one entry and that was last year when I arrived....that's all.

Should be fine on the first but ask them when you arrive what about the second and third entry. It may at least give you some idea... id also note down his name and rank / number too if you can just in case.

Wont really give you any guarantee but it will give you an idea... And have a plan B good luck

I cant believe people are actually having to worry about having what is a legit visa and if it will be accepted at immigration... banana republics work more smoothly than this.facepalm.gif

I understand it's their country and they can let in whoever they want but after reading about last winter being an all time low for tourism one would think they would want people coming there to spend money. I've done everything required of me. I guess they only want you in for 30 days, spend as much money as you can and get out. Well, I was a fool not to get flight insurance. I booked over four months ago not foreseeing any issue. Now this might turn into a nightmare.
