I know several people staying here on volunteer visas - and doing some good work. As there are no financial requirements for obtaining one, i.e. you don't have to show any amount of money, I wonder how long it will be before this changes?

It will not change. Why would it since people the majority of people volunteering are doing some good.

What makes you think that the changes are about showing financial proof.
