thesetat2013
So how does this affect the water drought this year which has been thought to happen? Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
kartman
The rain will be traveling sideways so fast it won't touch the ground.
IMA_FARANG
This Typhoon is intensifying rapidly out over the ocean before It makes land. The latest satellite photos show it heading to the east and northeast of the formerly projected landfall. Now it appears it will just miss the island of Hainan and instead make landfall in China. If that is the case, the effect on Thailand will be less than previously thought. This Typhoon is getting bigger and stronger rapidly. Where it will go is like the joke, "Where does the 600 kilo Gorilla go?" Answer, "Just about anywhere it d- -n well wants to". But right now the main effect of the wind and rain is going to be in China, and not affect Thailand that much. But who can really tell, this is now a BIG Gorilla. And it will go where ever it wants to.

RPCVguy
News stories forecasting storms but lacking maps always seem lacking. This may assist in conceptualizing the expected impact to those in Thailand. It looks to be sufficiently north as to mean only an inch or so extra rain for the northern provinces. Regular monsoons are usually about the same pattern
