Here's My Situation With Non Imm O-a

Featured Replies

I have a O-A which is to expire on Oct 11th. I wasn't planning on transfering the 800,000B to my thai account. I would like a Non-imm O. Can I get a 90 day extention on my O-A? I assume I have to apply for a Non-imm O from my home country. And finally, if I did transfer the money to a thai account, can It be easily transferred out after a re-newal of an O-A? Thanks, for any advice.

Depending upon your nationality and your reason for obtaining a non-o you should be able to get a multi-entry in KL.

What do you believe your eligability for a non-o is?

Nationality?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

The only thing we know for sure is that you are over age 50. With that as a basis and without money in a Thai bank account I do not believe many Consulates will be keen on issuing you a non immigrant O visa. The few Consulates that will issue in this area would expect to see proof of a Thai bank account with at least a few hundred thousand baht in it from reports we have. If you are married to a Thai it would be more likely to be approved.

As for movement of funds that might work for one year but very likely to be questioned on renewal. If you have pension income you would not require the 800k in a local bank account (although an account would still be required with something in it). The requirement is to have it certified by your Embassy here.

An application for a multi O at a Thai Embassy or Consulate will be seen for what it is. An attempt to avoid the financial obligations required of retirees in the Kingdom
