Bringing gold or silver coins and/or bullion into the PI

Featured Replies

I am interested in anyone who has experience or knows for sure what the rules are about bring such items with you into the PI. I am moving to the PI in Sept 2014 and have read that it is illegal for private citizens to have such items in their possession in the PI. I don't want to sell them here at home but don't want to get sideways with the PI government either.

In your case I would contact Bureau of Customs for Philippines, to get correct and updated information.

You have change in your pocket. Who's to know whether they are Morgan silver dollars, 17th century reales or current US quarters?
