Labour Min revokes licenses of employment agencies

BANGKOK, 31 July 2014 (NNT) – The Ministry of Labor has revoked the licenses of three employment agencies responsible for sending Thai workers abroad and has ordered one other to terminate its business.

The three companies whose operating licenses have been revoked include CCT International in Phitsanulok, Safe Group, and Plaimongkol in Bangkok. These employment agencies have earlier issued requests to halt their task of seeking workers to work at overseas locations.

KI Placement, which is located in Nonthaburi, however, has been ordered to shut down their operations. The company failed to file a request to extend their license, as the deadline has already expired 30 days ago.

The ministry has also been asked to stem the increasing number of Thais working abroad illegally. Cases of Thai laborers becoming illegal workers account for 15.6 percent, as many overseas workers were found to have violated employment contracts

Thailand is ranked sixth out of 15 countries that export workers under the Employment Permit System (EPS).

That's three down ,how many more to go , lets face it Thailand , you would have done nothing if the US had not given you a rev up the arse about human trafficking, the employment sham from your own Thai people, selling Thai labour, as slaves to another nation, to do what they like is irresponsible at the least, although you have to hand it to those European countries, they aren't any better than Thailand and that comes as a surprise, just go's to show, ars!!es are everywhere. bah.gif

Not to be picky or anything but looking at the website for the Employment Permit System in Korea (www.hrdkorea.or.kr), a telephone number is given to assist potential employees with their questions about working in Korea. There are 17 countries, including Korea, that an extension is given to that phone number so that the potential employee can call in order and ask questions in their native language. The extension for Thailand is 6. I'm curious if this is where the ranking comes from that is mentioned in the story.
