I have a Ch. friend who wants to come here and I suggested he teach Ch. and English as he is fluent in both. I'm curious if others have any recommendations for how I can help him to get started with looking for jobs. Only problem is he doesn't have a degree, but he has done consulting and translating work before and I think would be useful. Thanks, STC

Chinese teachers working here are usually from wealthy families and there's always made sure that they're going back. Those Chinese teachers also get paid by their own government, plus a salary from a Thai school.

But the laws in Thailand would make it almost impossible for him/her to work here. If she/he'd have a degree, then a TOEIC is needed.

Just being fluent in two languages doesn't make you to a teacher, roughly speaking.
