August 5, 201411 yr You can hire a nurse for about 500 Baht a day. I doubt any would do this for free. Demand is pretty high right now.
August 5, 201411 yr You can hire a nurse for about 500 Baht a day. I doubt any would do this for free. Demand is pretty high right now. Almost impossible to get a nurse for 500 baht a day. More like 1000 an 8 hour day if they are qualified. You may get an aide for 500. There is a tour company in Bankok which has a van that is accesible and does organise wheelchair tours. They seem a reasonable firm and the guy speaks English. He may be a good person to contact as he has a list of people he uses. I do not have his contacts on me now but if you need it pm me and I will find it for you.
August 5, 201411 yr Thats tuff duty. Thais don't work very well on their own. You might consider hiring 2 if you have the means.
August 5, 201411 yr Nurse is a nebulous term here. But I can get a new "nurse", still in training, sourced from a local hospital, for 300B per day, 12 hour shift. It doesn't sound like the OP needs an actual nurse, an "aide" would be fine.
August 5, 201411 yr any heavy set (strong) massage woman can do this job. they make about 10k-15k per month. If the OP were to provide room and board, air conditioning and a TV so his helper can watch TV all day they would be happy. Maybe you could find sisters or close friends to work together. August 5, 201411 yr I just left Thailand a few days ago and would have had a lady that would been ideal for you but I cannot get touch with her.Is there any reason it has to be a male are you worried that a lady wouldn't be strong enough
August 5, 201411 yr You say you've been to Thailand several times. Do you not have contacts from your previous trips, or was the disease not so advanced then? Try the various different forums or craigslist, maybe someone can help. Best of luck and enjoy your trip.
August 10, 201411 yr Unfortunately I have experience with nursing agencies in Thailand, I would be banned if I said my opinion from real experience. You don't really need a nurse. Be open to the idea of a strong lady as well. Also, you could meet someone here who is married to a Thai and as a couple could help you out. Don't really have any other suggestions. A huge thumbs up to keep enjoying life to the best as you can, kind of motivational to the complainers here.
August 10, 201411 yr Seems most posters above, although well meaning, have missed this vital bit of the OP's post: Basically, we will travel together for the trip i.e. It would appear he seeks someone uk based.
August 11, 201411 yr Try Kronus in Bangkok as a last resort. They can provide you with an aide 24/7. It won't be 500 a day though. They have filipino aides with excellent english skills (not much thai though!)
