Hi

My wife has been in the UK for 2 years on a spouse visa and now we're gathering the last few documents as listed on the ILR application form.

Is it necessary to go above and beyond the list of required documents; as in the case of the spouse visa where you need to concretely prove your relationship ?

For our specific case; my wife thinks it would be better to include photographs of us together from the last 2 years. I suppose that could help because when she came to the UK I didn't bother to add her name to the bills so we have very few letters with both our names on. The guidance on the application form does say that we can include more letters individually addressed to the same house. So maybe we don't need the photos ?

The last few years I have been trying to start my own business so my own income was considerably lower than the new threshold. In the last several months I got a new job and continued with my business in my spare time. Therefore my annual income is now considerably higher than the threshold although I haven't earnt the threshold amount yet, this year. As my boss is a reasonably prestigious person I have asked him to write a short letter to the effect that he expects that I will be able to continue in this job for the forseeable future.

Are there any other ways that I can strengthen the ILR application ?

Thanks

getting close to 2 years since we put the wife's ILR application in but at the time we had the same problem of not many letters jointly addressed, but we did have plenty sent separately to the same address, no problems and didn't send any photos.

Photos might reinforce the relationship bit but they are unlikely to be of much value at this point. The requirements are pretty specific and you must provide suitable letters.

Use a bit of lateral thinking but don't panic too much about joint letters. Gp's send letters, driving licence/DVLA, HMRC (if your wife works ask them to send a notice of tax code - it will get to her quickly and is rock solid as far as the UKVI are concerned). If she does not have a NI number then apply for one and send the notification letter.

You really don't need to provide too much!
