ICT Minister will call a meeting of agencies responsible in times of disasters, this Friday

Deputy Prime Minister and ICT Minister Suchai Charoenrattanakul (สุชัย เจริญรัตนกุล) will call a meeting of related agencies to confer on providing of assistance to the public in cases of disasters, and inter-agency coordination would be emphasised more.

Md. Suchai said the prime minister places importance in the continuation of disaster warning efforts, by means of fostering more coordination.

He said so far the Meteorological Department has been the agency issuing warnings on rain, floods, and earthquakes while the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, the Interior Ministry, the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry and the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry are the agencies responsible for moving people out of areas at risk.

Thus the prime minister wants coordination amongst the state agencies and has called a meeting for this purpose this coming Friday.
