bury bones or ashes?

Either,I guess someone must know?

Either,I guess someone must know?

I would like to know the answer too. I've Googled it and all I get is you need special permission for a proper burial in a graveyard. Nothing about your home. Burying ashes at your home is not a problem you can do whatever you like with them as long as the body has been legally cremated of course.

what constitutes a legal cremation?

There must be some regulations or customs. We had a still born child in the family and it  was buried in a distant corner and given a grave. The monks did perform a ceremony. I just googled 'cremation Thailand' and got a list of Thai funeral directors. Why not contact one and ask?

My understanding is a monk needs to be present and that should only happen after all legalities have been completed.

It is a criminal offence in Thailand to not report a death to the Police within 24hrs.
