Will "Reforms" Be Farang Friendly?

Featured Replies

Daily reads of panic seem not to cease soon. For foreigners it appears reforms is a cold cup of coffee when you expect it to be hot.
Farangs (at least on this forum) have mostly and, for some, passionately supported the movement that led to these "reforms".
Now the same farangs can only accept the results and the coming reforms, be it positive or negative, be it a nicer beach view but no more beach chairs, or the enforcement of the immigration rules... or any other rules which will certainly be less flexible than before.

Several other people on this forum already wondered if, finally, it was not better without reforms.

But everything will be OK, and most will adapt to the new rules :)

I was worried about this after entering the country last month with a record of numerous in-outs over 2011-2012. Immigration stamped me in as my recent history indicates: clearly a tourist. Let's wait and see whether f-rangs are being gradually kicked out, or whether they're just trying to clean out some of the "dirtier" ones.

Farang friendly or not.

You abide by the rules with the country YOU have chosen to live in and you have nothing to fear or worry about.

Panic and worry is for the ones that disrespected the rules in the past.

Let them worry.

The reforms will have nothing to do with farangs.

If you bothered to read the numerous news articles concerning the upcoming reform process, it has no mention of immigration.

The recent clamp down on immigration rules have nothing whatsoever to do with national reforms and have been coming for years.

Up to now it has always been threatened, and now they are giving it an actual go, it may even just fade away given time, this is nothing new either.

Ultra conservatives are in charge and they don't appreciate the farang spoiling the gene pool.

There was a definite anti farang sentiment at the yellow shirt protests so I will bet they will tighten the screws.

Not the forum for political discussion/statements
