Anybody effected at Phuket airport by the new August 12^th immigration regulations yet???

I will be arriving (Phuket) on the 15^th planning on my normal 30 day stamp for my vacation.

Have been out of Thailand for 5 weeks this will be my 4^th visit to Thailand this year.

I will report here of my experience…        How was yours???

 

Sounds like you work outside of Thailand. Show the you employment docs and 20K and I expect you'll be thru no problem.

Arrived at Phuket airport this morning as scheduled
10am with all required documents just 10K in cash,
immigration and baggage claim was a breeze 15 minutes,
I was not asked for anything except passport and arrival card.
30 day stamp at entry 4th one this year the official even said enjoy your holiday amazing Thailand. sweet as...
was also nice to see the taxi touts behaving themselves under the watchful eye of the military accross the road.....

I think it is becoming clearer by the day, that Immi are *really* only interested in border runners...  Out/In on the same day. Which was reasonably clear in pretty much everything they said... or didn't say.

I had a similar experience the other night when the Immi guy said to me "Come back Soon".... with a smile....  I was shocked....

My PP is full of VE's and TV's, I asked him to have a look thru my PP, and asked him, based on my travel patterns, that have been consistent for years, would I have any trouble coming back on a VE or TV...  He said  "No... You are not the kind of person we are looking for.... Come Back Soon".

Altho, I am thinking of grabbing a non Imm O - A multi entry and just using that for a year....
