TAT (tourism) site partly non-functional

Featured Replies

I tried lodging a complaint on the TAT site:
http://www.tourismthailand.org/Send-Complaint
...and in several ways, the page didn't function.

How much funding does TAT get annually? You'd think they could get someone to make a functional cgi page.

Since I'm bellyaching about TAT, I'll mention:

>>> it's still largely deluxe hotel/resort oriented. It's like the law of the road here: The bigger your vehicle, the more right-of-way you get (and the louder your horn).

>>> Secondly, the most expensive restaurants are showcased on the site. After that are golf courses, spas, and other vanity venues.

>>> what about the little guys? Oh, sorry, almost forgot, they don't really matter. Thailand wants to officially showcase only its most expensive up-scale venues. All other tourist-oriented venues can muddle through however they can.

No wonder tourism in Thailand is tanking.

The reason I wanted to complain to TAT was about a rip-off operation in northern Thailand's Golden Triangle (a group of tourist shops). If interested in details on that, see Chiang Rai forum herein.

If only non-functionality within TAT was confined only to the Website.....................

Perhaps their staff is off on another fact-finding mission to the French Riviera or the Alps. ....all-expenses paid including 1st class airfares on Thai Airways, and stays at 5 star hotels.
