rcm
With an imported Motorbike that has all the Import Papers i have been told there is no need for a Nr Plate. No other Paper documentation but the Import Papers exists for this Bike. Is this kind of Bike legal to drive Nationwide (LOS) without having any hassle? If not, what would be the procedure to get it "legal". Thank you for your feedback, rcm
xbusman
Its not legal to drive on any public road in Thailand. Fine for off road if thats your intent. The procedure to get it legal is to have a dealer run it through the registration process which costs anywhere from 35,000 baht to 100,000 baht depending on the bike. You might want to make sure the numbers on the bike actually match the numbers on the import docs before you do.
SnakeBite
They can confiscate your bike and be fined 10,000 baht if ALL paperwork is not in order.
Sakeopete
I purchased a Ninja from a popular Bangkok dealer it was previously registered so was sold as registered. I tried getting it registered in Bangkok and Sakeo but some of the papers were missing. The dealer promised for over a year to sort it but it was just lip service so I ended up paying tea money in Bangkok. Had the registration the next day.
