5 month stay in Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi I'm a 33 year old UK resident

I have been in and out of Thailand for the last 4 years. I work six-seven months in the UK and then spend five -six months in Thailand but do not work, I'm in Thailand from October to following April normally.

Last year 2013- 2014 I used an initial 30 day tourist visa on entry then a 3 month ed visa then finally another 30 day tourist visa after flying back in from a break in Cambodia.

I have had a thai girlfriend for the last two years, same one!:) this year I'll be spending most my time in Sa Keao province.

What's my best options for visas, not married as of yet.

Can I get another ed visa? I know I would have to commute to pattaya for a couple of days a week to do school which I could do with anyway my that is getting there but slowly. I used the single entry 90 day visa last time but did not extend. I hope to be in the country from October to mid April.

Any useful advice would be greatly appreciated

You should get a double entry tourist visa, in your country or in e.g. Laos.

Thanks paz

Some idiotic posts have been removed.

You don't need a ED visa unless you really like to study. A double entry tourist visa will be good

Thanks larsjohnsson. Would that be a 60 day double entry? I can extend this by 30 days on each entry is that correct? Or is there a 90 day double entry?

It is a 60 day entry that you can extend that gives 90 days total stay. Some people incorrectly call them a 90 day visa.

You will likely get be able get a 2 entry visa that will be valid for 6 months from the date of entry if you apply in your home country. You must use the 2nd entry before the visa expires.

If unfortunate and they only issue it with a 90 day validity you would loose some of the total stay for the first entry for every day you get it before entering the country.
