Former US President Bill Clinton Turns 68

MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - The 42nd President of the United States Bill Clinton turns 68 on Tuesday.

According to US media reports, the politician had an early birthday celebration Saturday while on vacation in the Hamptons off the coast of New York with his wife Hillary, their daughter Chelsea and her husband. They dined with a group of people at a local restaurant.

For the ex-president's birthday, The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation released a video with Kevin Spacey playing Clinton, who calls Hillary to discuss baby names for Chelsea's future child. The video went viral hours within hours of its online release.

Clinton served as US president between 1993 and 2001. He was the third-youngest person ever to hold the post, as he headed the White House at the age of 46.

Clinton became known as a New Democrat, adopting an ideologically centrist position and enacting welfare and tax reforms to benefit the working poor and middle class. He was a strong supporter of NATO expansion, and led NATO's military operation for Kosovo’s independence.

He is however most well known for cigars and Monica Lewinsky and how his lying about that almost got him booted out of office. Nothing else matters really. clap2.gif

I'm not so sure about that. I think Hillary will run and will likely win and that she will position herself as an independent woman candidate. That twofer dealio was for another time.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean he would hold office. He would be like a mentor to her but strictly not hold any office.

No you were clear enough. If she is perceived as needing any mentor, she will not win. She will distance herself from that perception as well she should. Bill will help her CAMPAIGN of course.

Personally, I see the value in a tag-team presidency. Good cop/bad cop in world diplomacy where Hilary's chemistry clashes or where Bill's relationships or skills and knowledge are deeper. It might work....

Birthday to Bill, surprised he hasn't died of Aids or something by now. Both are liars and parasites, but I don't if one learned from the other, or they were natural born.

And Hilary, yep she's positioning alright. I don't know how many people will buy that she didn't agree with Obama's policies, considering she didn't mind staying in there at the hog trough as Sec of State all those years.
