Hi

I cant seem to figure this out with the new visa rules but I am here in Thailand on a double entry visa, im on my second entry with a 30 extension which expires on the 30th of August but im not flying out of Thailand to Bali until the 1st of October so I was wondering if I fly to Kuala Lumper on the 30th of August and stayed there for 3 or 4 days and flew back to Thailand can I get a 30 day visa on arrival? I have never done a visa run yet as i Had my visa.

This would be enough time to fly to Bali on the 1st of October where I am going for a 2 week holiday then I plan to get a 60 day visa in Bali for Thailand and fly home on the 12th of December which is already booked. Any help would be really appreciated as im so confused, I dont want to get stuck at the border in Bangkok.

Thanks.

You should not have a problem in getting a visa exempt since it would be your first one. You can fly or go a nearby country via land if that suits you. To be on the safe side bring with you Bt 10,000 or equivalent in cash and an outgoing ticket printout.

Thank you for your quick reply, OK thats good to hear so I wont have any problem as this is my first one even tho I have been here 3 months and only left for a few days to come back again with no visa?

And I dont have 10,000 Bath all at once on me would it be ok if i had 4000 and a credit card with me? Would that still work? Because i dont know what I will do if i get stuck in Bangkok and not allowed in

Thanks for your help just really want to be sure

You should not have problems, but there is no guarantee. You can be interviewed on the suspicion you work in Thailand.

The rules says Bt 10,000 cash and even if unlikely you'll be asked, that is what you should carry. Cards don't really count.

If you decide to do a land entry, I would avoid the southern border crossings as they seem to be making up their own regulations on a daily basis, not in the traveler's favor!

Sorry for the late reply on this but just for anyone who is curious, I had no problems returning to Bangkok the immigration officer just stamped my passport and let me through didn't even say a word to me.. Thanks for everyone's help.
